Humans Created a Space Prison in Order to Keep The Most Dangerous Criminals Away From Earth

Movie: Lockout

In the year 2079, CIA agent Snow faces charges for the murder of Colonel Frank Armstrong, who had uncovered a mole selling classified information about the United States space program. Acting on the President's advice, Secret Service director Scott Langral has Snow convicted of both murder and espionage, sentencing him to thirty years in the high-security space penitentiary MS One, where inmates are held in stasis throughout their sentences. Snow's colleague, Harry Shaw, endeavors to locate Mace, Snow's contact, who knows the whereabouts of Frank's briefcase containing the stolen secrets.

Simultaneously, Emilie, the President's daughter, arrives at MS One to investigate claims of mental instability developing in prisoners kept in stasis. Amid her inquiries, a violent uprising ensues led by deranged inmate Hydell, resulting in Emilie's capture. Shaw persuades Langral and the President to send Snow to rescue Emilie, emphasizing the potential assistance of Mace in proving Snow's innocence. Initially hesitant, Snow agrees after learning Mace is on MS One. Despite an initial attempt to negotiate Emilie's release, Snow is compelled to infiltrate the prison as the situation escalates.

Realizing Emilie's identity, Alex, Hydell's brother, secures her, prompting her escape with her bodyguard Hock. Tragedy strikes when a problem with the oxygen supply forces Hock to sacrifice himself, buying Emilie more time. Snow successfully rescues Emilie, disguising her gender to navigate through the prison unnoticed. Despite finding Mace, the stasis has left him incoherent. Snow and Emilie attempt to reach the escape pod, but the prison's uncontrolled descent results in a collision with the International Space Station, leading to Mace's demise.

Discovering the escape pod has only one seat, Snow realizes he was intended to die. He sends Emilie away, but she refuses to leave without the remaining hostages. Despite Emilie revealing her location to Hydell, he betrays her, killing the hostages. Snow and Emilie uncover evidence of illegal experimentation on prisoners. Alex captures Emilie, shoots Snow, and informs the President of their dire situation. Langral orders the destruction of MS One.

Hydell attempts to harm Emilie but is thwarted by Alex. A confrontation between Hydell and Alex results in Alex's death. Snow intervenes, knocking out Hydell. As they escape, Langral's men plant a bomb on the prison. Snow and Emilie jump from MS One using space suits, landing safely in New York City, where Snow is apprehended.

Later, Emilie deciphers Mace's ramblings as a code revealing the location of Frank's briefcase. Examining the crime scene, Emilie realizes Langral's misinterpretation of Snow shooting Frank, leading to Snow's arrest. Shaw is exposed as the mole and arrested. Snow is released, and a memory card with the true secrets is found in the lighter given to him by Frank. Emilie playfully teases Snow after learning his first name is Marion, and they walk away together.
